The Casa Maya Adventure Program is focused on enjoyment and education while protecting the wonders of the fascinating tropical environments of Belize. Our adventure trips and treks will show you wonders and introduce you to adventures that can be found no place else on earth. We sincerely ask that you leave everything as you find it. For example, our Orchid Trail has nearly a thousand orchid plants for you to see as you stroll through the jungle, but if each visitor takes one, how long will it be before they become rare? Every pottery shard, arrowhead and artifact that leaves in someone’s pocket is valuable knowledge lost. Break off a chunk of lovely cave dripstone and you destroy a few thousand years of nature's work. There are deer, agouti, ocelot, jaguar, tapir, peccary, warrie, gibnut, crocodiles, and an endless variety of jungle animals to see, but if they are hunted and killed, the National Zoo will become the only major adventure trip in Belize. Our guides will take you to mysterious and hidden places very few people ever see, but we ask you to help us protect these unique sites by not divulging their locations to others and by leaving everything as it was when you arrived, thus your children and future generations will be able to enjoy them as much as you did. Belize is special, but very fragile.

There are a number of interesting environmental activities available on the grounds of the resort, such as nature walks, bird watching, the Orchid Trail, and the Medicine Trail. Bird watching areas have been prepared for those interested in the great variety of our flying creatures.

Our Orchid Trail has around a thousand orchid plants with over 100 varieties. These include most of the many varieties of orchids and bromeliads found in Belize, grow in the hills and river valleys of the Cayo District.

A fascinating Medicine Trail winds through Casa Maya introducing guests to the captivating world of rainforest healing herbs and medicines. Special seminars and programs are arranged for groups who wish to learn the use of jungle medicine from Mayan Healers.

Casa Maya adventure programs are individually designed to suit the desires and needs of our guests. Most visitors to Belize are surprised at how much there is to do in this small tropical paradise, especially in our inland jungles and mountains.

Day Adventure Trips - to give you a fun-filled introduction to our fascinating caves, rivers, archaeology ruins and natural wonders. These are private trips, which leave from the resort in the morning and can be selected on a day-by-day basis.

Overnight Adventure Tours - for those seeking a really in-depth experience in our rainforests and jungles. These overnight tours are designed to take you on truly interactive wilderness adventures deeper into the remote jungle areas of Belize.

High Adventure Treks - for the true adventurer seeking thrills and excitement doing rare and unusual things in rare and unusual places. These multi-day treks take you into the deepest wilderness areas where humans rarely venture.

Raspacula Wilderness Trek - an opportunity to explore and camput in a remote upland jungle riverine environment and see many rare and endangered animals and birds. Few have ventured here.

Chiquibul Wilderness Trek - for the truly adventurous type exploring upland jungle plateau country filled with rare animals, birds and fascinating karst geologic features
